Week 2

All is going well in THIRD Grade! So far we are just continuing to get to know each other, as well as the rules and routines of the classroom. We are doing everything we can to be safe with one another, respectful of people's feelings and responsible for ourselves. One good thing to come out of all these changes is the small amount of students we have, and our new awareness of getting outside. Here are some of the activities that we did this week!

We learned about the power of YET! You can become better at things, smarter, stronger, if you don't give up and say things to yourself like "I can't do this, YET!", "I will KEEP TRYING!", "I CAN DO THIS!". Students wrote about things they couldn't do yet, but would like to keep working at.

We did an outdoor scavenger hunt to find things in nature and work as a team!

We played a "get to know you" game by asking our partner questions like, "If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you bring?" The kids were so good and thought of survival items. Unlike Miss Ali, who immediately thought of books and music. I guess the kids would survive longer than me!

We enjoyed water color painting outside, to relax one afternoon.

We even had an awesome math class outside one day. Kids worked on Hundreds chart packets and we played a very popular game of guessing numbers while learning about Place Value called "Cows and Bulls".

  1. I asked Brett what he did at school last week and he said “ we went outside, we went outside, & we went outside.” 😂 That’s great because it’s already starting to get so cold!
